The number of corona infections are increasing in the Himalayan district of Kalikot. The second variant spreads and the number of infected has exceeded 600.
According to the District Health Service Office, the number of corona cases has reached 637 by Tuesday. Of these, 400 are actively infected. Six infected people have died. Although the number of fever and cold patients has increased in all the localities of the district, the number of people undergoing corona test is low.
According to Gaurakumari Ghartimagar, information officer of the office, the corona was confirmed in six people at Khadachakra-4 Tadi on Monday. “The infection has spread at the community level. Now everyone needs to be vigilant,” he said. “We are emphasizing testing, treatment and awareness to prevent infection.”
Health supplies to the hospital
Save the Children has donated Rs 600,000 to the district hospital to save the locals from the Corona epidemic. The hospital has been provided 250 VTM kits, 150 PPE sets, 1,200 surgical masks and other supplies. According to the hospital, the organization has also provided two IR thermometers, 500 ml sanitizer and 500 surgical globes. Health Manager Katak Bahadur Mahat said that health products would be useful to fight the corona epidemic. Similarly, Kidark Nepal has provided various health items to Khadachakra, Raskot and Narharinath villages. The organization said that surgical masks, hand washing soap, brushes, toothpaste, sanitizer and other materials have been provided to the infected people.
