The rate of corona infection is high in the rural areas of the Himalayan district Myagdi. The infection has spread rapidly in the villages adjoining the district headquarters Benibazar as well as other villages. The infection rate of corona has skyrocketed in Jamarukkot, Ratnechaur, Bhakimli, Singa, Dammara, Pulachaur, Mangalaghat and all the six local levels of Beni Municipality. According to the Health Office, more than 100 corona cases have been reported in Myagdi daily.
At present, 1,301 people are infected in Myagdi. Local level chiefs have said that the infection is increasing in Malika, Mangala, Raghuganga, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Most of the infected people have symptoms, said Raghuganga Village Chairman Bhav Bahadur Bhandari.
Chairman of Malika Village Municipality, Shriprasad Roka, said that the rate of infection has spread rapidly in the last one month. He said that the number of patients in the village is increasing, the risk of infection has increased due to untimely testing and late reporting of those who have been tested.
“The corona is spreading a lot. It has not been a long time since people started getting sick in the village. Wedding parties were held in Baishakh and all the villagers participated in the crowded activities, ‘he said.
Infection rate has also skyrocketed in Beni Municipality-2 Jamarukkot. There are currently 26 active infected people here. Dozens of corona infections have been confirmed in the same ward. However, locals complain that the scope of the test is too narrow.
Looking at the situation of the last week, the corona infection has spread in the village in a frightening manner. Jitendra Kunwar said.
As the number of infected people has started increasing in the villages, local people’s representatives have started reaching the villages with doctors. They have reached the doorsteps of the patients with health items, medicines and nutritious food for the infected.
“We have reached the doorsteps of the infected people with the campaign to understand the condition of the infected corona and provide them with health counseling and medicine,” said Tek Bahadur Rawal, ward president of Beni Municipality-1.
Eknarayan Lamsal, head of the health office in Myagdi, said that the infection had spread at a rapid rate as the infected people were not living in isolation.
“The current infection rate, as it seems to be on the rise, is due to the negligence of the infected and the citizens. In addition to this, this situation has come up due to overcrowding in the village during weddings, religious functions and other activities in the month of Baisakh, ‘he said. Once a person is infected in the same family, the family must live in isolation, and everyone needs to be aware and responsible. ‘
He said that the spread of the infection could be prevented if all the health standards and restrictions imposed by the government were followed properly.
